Chile is experiencing a true agricultural revolution. With more than 50,000 hectares planted, a harvest that has already surpassed 100,000 metric tons, and one of the most dynamic growth rates worldwide, in 2025 our country became the world’s second-largest producer, after Turkey. This growth presents a historic opportunity—but also a responsibility: to build a competitive, sustainable, and globally recognized sector. That is the challenge embraced by Hazelnut Committee of Chile.
Hazelnut Committee of Chile was founded in 2021 as a trade association that today brings together 48% of the country’s production, along with other key actors in the agro-industrial chain. Our structure is designed to ensure territorial representation, with council members from all producing regions—from O’Higgins to Los Ríos and Los Lagos—and board members appointed by strategic sector institutions.
Our mission is to drive the development of hazelnuts in Chile by promoting excellence, innovation, and collaboration throughout the value chain.
We aim to position Chile as a global benchmark in hazelnut cultivation, recognized for quality, traceability, and sustainability.
Three pathways to fulfilling our mission
We help raise production standards by sharing technical knowledge, innovation, and best practices that enhance crop quality and productivity.
We work to establish hazelnuts as a strategic crop for Chile’s agricultural diversification, fostering coordination with public and private institutions.
We build connections with associations, research centers, and global networks, placing Chile at the heart of the international hazelnut industry
To continue building a more competitive, sustainable, and trusted sector—both nationally and internationally
